Ulf Wokurka

Ulf Wokurka studied in 1980-81 at the Martin Luther University in the town Halle an der Saale (Germany), and in 1989 he graduated from the faculty of International Relations of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

In 1990, he began to work in the JSC “Deutsche Bank” in Frankfurt am Main, where he held various positions until 2006, and from 1993 to 1996 he led the offices of “Deutsche Bank”, as well as of the Morgan Grenfell in Kazakhstan.

In 1996, he transferred to the London office of the Deutsche Bank as the manager of the loan management team for projects in the minerals sector, and since 1998 he worked as Director of the Deutsche Bank’s departments for project and export financing, first in New York and then in Frankfurt.

From 2006 till 2008, Ulf served as Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer of JSC Kazakhstan Holding for the Management of State Assets “Samruk” in Astana.

From 2008 till 2010, he was Managing Director of Metzler Asset Management GmbH in Frankfurt, until he returned to the Head Office of JSC Deutsche Bank in July 2010, from September 1, 2010, as Head of the Deutsche Bank Representative Office in Kazakhstan.

From 2007 to March 2015, Ulf Wokurka worked as an Independent Director in the JSC “Development Bank of Kazakhstan” and continued working with the JSC “Kazyna Capital Management” in 2007.

From November 2010 to March 2015, Ulf Wokurka worked as an Independent Director of the board of Directors of the Turkish bank “Sekerbank T.A.S.”, shares of which were traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange “Istanbul Stock Exchange”.

Since April 2011 until now, Ulf Wokurka has been working as an Independent Director of the Board of Directors of JSC “Narodniy Savings Bank of Kazakhstan”, which shares are traded both on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange “KASE” and on the London Stock Exchange “London Stock Exchange”.

From September 2012 to the present, Ulf Wokurka worked as an independent director of the board of Directors of the JSC “National Investment Corporation of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

On July 29, 2014, Ulf Wokurka was elected as Chairman of the Board of the “Association of the Kazakhstan Council of Foreign Investors”.

On April 20, 2015, Ulf Wokurka was elected as Independent Director of the JSC “Kazakhstan Mortgage Corporation”.

Mr. Wokurka is currently an independent member of the Board of Directors of the JNC KAZAKH INVEST JSC.
