Rustam Shanazarov

Rustam Shanazarov leads projects in finance and telecom in Central Asia and supports clients on strategy, large-scale transformations, and operational improvements.

His expertise includes retail and small and medium-size enterprise (SME) accelerated growth, digital-product launches, and fintech. He is also an active member of our private-equity sector, where he advises clients globally on acquisitions in various industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, software, and entertainment.

Rustam Shanazarov has also extensively served large pharmaceutical companies in global expansion work. His projects included new drug launches, market expansions, portfolio growth, and optimization for companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Rustam Shanazarov held a corporate strategy role in a leading global chemicals company and was also an associate in a US-based private-equity group.
