Peter Bakos

Head of the Market Surveillance and Issuer Supervision, Central Bank of Hungary

Peter has over 15 years of experience in financial supervision and investment banking combined. He has been in financial supervision since 2017, currently heading the market surveillance and issuer supervision department of the Central Bank of Hungary.
Prior to joining the Central Bank of Hungary, Peter was in investment banking, working across several regions in London, Vienna and Dubai either on the private side of the market in origination or on the public side on emerging market trading desk. He started his career in investment banking in London in 2007 at ABN AMRO Bank and then the Royal Bank of Scotland as a fixed income originator responsible for deals out of the CEEMEA region. In 2013 he joined Erste Group Bank in Vienna to strengthen the Central and Eastern European debt capital markets business. Later on, he moved to Dubai to work for Bank Muscat and to take care of the international coverage and origination in the Middle East. He is a CFA® charterholder and holds an MBA and MSc in Finance from the Fudan University of Shanghai and the Corvinus University of Budapest.
