Giovanni Gavino Everduin

Giovanni ‘Gio’serves as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officerat Commercial Bank International based in Dubai. Beyond the traditional bankingStrategy, Transformation,BI and ESG functions, he oversees the Innovation Lab, includingstrategicinvestments& JVs, Fintech partnerships, AI and virtual assets capabilities including tokenization.

To execute on a vision of partnership driven innovation and increase the bank’s ability to quickly capitalize on opportunities from emerging technology, he helped architect a Banking as a Service (BaaS), Fintech as a Service and Embedded Finance strategy to expand the bank’s reach and scope. To further drive that vision, he set up the venture arm of the bank and lead investments in several startup. Recent investments include Boomitra, an AI powered agricultural renewal and carbon credit startup out of Stanford who recently won the prestigious Prince William Earth Shot prize and Times Magazine’s Top Innovative Companies.
