Yeldos Abakanov

From 2007 to 2008, he worked at the Youth Policy Center of Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov. From 2009 to 2011, he served as an estimator assistant in a construction company and then as a lead engineer in the Production and Technical Management of RGP “Kazhydromet”. In 2012, he became the Chief Manager at JSC “Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services”. From 2015 to 2016, he worked as a Project Manager at the NGO “Coalition for a Green Economy and Development G-Global”. In December 2017, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Association of Ecological Organizations of Kazakhstan”. In January 2021, he became a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VII convocation and a member of the Committee on Ecology and Natural Resource Management of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the RK. He was one of the initiators and a member of the working group that developed the draft law on infrastructure development for electric vehicles (adopted in July 2024).

Since April 2023, he has been the Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “Institute for Development of Electric Power and Energy Saving”. Yeldos has interned and enhanced his qualifications in the USA, European countries, and the CIS on issues related to energy saving, green economy, and environmental protection. He has been awarded medals such as “For Labor Distinction”, “Excellence in Ecology”, “30 Years in the Field of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, and “For Contribution to the Field of Energy Saving”.
