Baghdad Amreyev

Baghdad Amreyev was born on March 1, 1959 in Sholak-Korgan, South Kazakhstan Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Education:

• 1976-1982 – Department of Oriental Studies, Tajik State University, Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).

Work experience:

• 1980-1981 – Translator in the Democratic Republic of Yemen.
• 1982-1985 – USSR Embassy in Damascus (Syria).
• 1985-1988 – Senior Lecturer, Al-Farabi Kazakh State University.
• 1988-1991 – USSR Embassy in Baghdad (Iraq).
• 1992-1994 – Head of the Middle East Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• 1995-1996 – Head of the Department of the Middle East (Arab countries and Israel), Middle East (Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan) and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• 1996-2002 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan concurrently to the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
• 2002-2008 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Middle East concurrently to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Lebanese Republic, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. Coordinating Ambassador of Kazakhstan in African countries. Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
