Azizjon Azimi

Founder of A7σ (A7Sigma)

Azizjon Azimi is an AI entrepreneur from Tajikistan. An alum of Stanford University (MBA 2021 as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar) and Harvard University (MPP 2021), he is the founder of A7σ (A7Sigma) – an AI holding company with ventures across foundational AI models, applied AI, green compute and AI talent education based out of Tajikistan and UAE. A7σ’s flagship initiative is zypl.ai – an AI startup launched at Stanford Startup Garage that is pioneering application of proprietary synthetic data to optimize accuracy of machine learning applications in risk assessment. Over 30 financial institutions in 13 countries globally have deployed zypl’s generative AI software in several risk use cases including credit scoring, fraud detection, collection forecasting and others.

Azizjon is also the founding chair of the Artificial Intelligence Council under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan. In this role, he spearheaded the passage of Tajikistan’s national AI strategy – the first in Central Asia – and is leading the strategy’s implementation with a consortium of stakeholders. With support from the President and Government of Tajikistan, Azizjon is currently supervising the establishment of Area AI – a dedicated AI park in Dushanbe, Tajikistan with substantial preferences for local and global AI companies.

Prior to his current endeavors, Azizjon founded NGO TajRupt – an educational nonprofit transforming youth potential into human capital through extracurricular activities in Tajikistan. He had previously graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and double honors in economics and international relations from New York University. For his work on TajRupt, Azizjon was featured in Forbes “30 Under 30” Asia in category of leading social entrepreneurs.
