Athena Miao

Athena Miao is the Vice President of Business Development at BigONE Global Cryptocurrency Exchange. In this role, Athena is responsible for developing and expanding the exchange’s B2B and B2C global framework, connecting users, regulators, and stakeholders on the BigONE platform. Under her leadership, the exchange has expanded its reach into Central Asia, specifically in Kazakhstan, where it seeks to support the country’s regulatory framework in the crypto industry by working closely with AFSA and AIFC.

Prior to her current role at BigONE, Athena is a seasoned finance professional with a wealth of experience in the finance industry in Singapore. She has worked in some of Singapore’s top local brokerages and banks, including Phillip Securities and United Overseas Bank, where she gained valuable insight into the global securities and banking industries. Athena is also a CFA Level 2 candidate and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from her previous teaching career with Singapore’s Ministry of Education. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the National University of Singapore. Her diverse experience in finance, education, and business development has provided her with a unique perspective on the cryptocurrency industry.
