Partner at HFW
Adam is a Partner in the Commodities department of HFW's Singapore office with a focus on international trade, commodities and shipping matters. Adam's area of expertise is international arbitration, both ad hoc and arbitrations under the LMAA, GAFTA, FOSFA, ICC, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules. Adam has also acted in commercial litigation in relation to a variety of other matters, including litigation relating to letters of credit and business rates.
He also advises on non-contentious matters such as physical commodities contracts (including storage, warehousing, marketing and distribution agreements), structured trade contracts, and project documentation for use in shipbuilding and offshore projects. The commodities in respect of which Adam has experience of advising include oil, petroleum products, coal, base metals, iron ore, grains, soya beans and rice. He speaks regularly at commodities and offshore seminars and has also delivered training on SCoTA and GAFTA contracts. Adam was ranked as one of Singapore's top 20 most promising legal luminaries aged under 40 (Singapore Business Review, 2018). Adam is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales.
