Miklós Luspay
Director for Financial Infrastructures and Payments, Magyar Nemzeti Bank
Mr. Miklós Luspay obtained a Master’s degree in Finance from Corvinus University of Budapest and a Law degree from Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He also holds a Master’s in Finance from Fudan University and an MBA from Corvinus University of Budapest. He joined the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB) as an analyst, with an expertise on the liquidity of payment systems. He also worked for the European Central Bank in 2011.
He is currently Director of the Financial Infrastructures and Payments Directorate where his main responsibility includes the development of the Hungarian electronic payment ecosystem and its retail system, including the instant payment system. His directorate created the Central Bank of Hungary’s payment strategy. Currently, they are involved in the payment regulation and responsible for the payment-related research at the MNB, as well as for the development of the CSD and CCP. In recent years, he was responsible for renewing the supervisory methodology, shaping and integrating the oversight and supervisory tasks related to the central bank’s critical financial infrastructures, as well as for developing the related central bank risk-based oversight methodology. He also participated in the work of numerous international committees and working groups. He is the author and/or co-author of several publications on payment systems.
